We had a brief stay in Knoxville. Just enough to get a good night’s sleep and a hot breakfast in preparation for the end of the first leg of our journey.
Before we left though, we took in just a few sites in beautiful, historic Knoxville. At our first stop, we find this man among all sorts of vegetation and their “roots.”
Yes, we found Alex Haley. Of course our curious kids just had to see what he was reading. While Ben and I ad a chance to take a couple pic.
We stretched our legs a bit before we got in the car. Janea and I do not know what came over Ben and Judah, who decided to celebrate with a belly-bump.
Almost literally around the corner and down the street, we found the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. This would have been a good time to take an impromptu tour but it is closed on Sunday.
